Will former Sheriff get divorced because of his arrest for drug charges?

Former “sheriff of the year” arrested and sent to jail named after him

Every civil servant wants to experience his or her legacy firsthand--but not the way that onetime Arapahoe Sheriff Patrick J. Sullivan Jr. has. Sullivan, a nationally renowned law enforcement leader, was arrested on drug charges and is now being detained in the Denver area jail that bears his name.

Sullivan, who in 2001 was named the National Sheriff Association's "Sheriff of the Year," was arrested on suspicion of trafficking methamphetamines.

Local news station CBS4 began an investigation of Sullivan last month on a tip that he had agreed to meet a male informant, providing drugs in exchange for sex. He was subsequently arrested by the South Metro Drug Task Force and is currently being held on a $250,000 bond.

And in an incredible twist of fate, Sullivan now cooling his heels at The Patrick J. Sullivan Jr. Detention Facility, named in his honor.

"The allegations of criminal behavior involving Pat Sullivan are extraordinarily disturbing," said Grayson Robinson, Arapahoe County's current sheriff. "While the arrest of the former sheriff is very troubling, no one, and particularly a former peace officer, is above the law. This is the most shocking thing I've ever been involved with."

Sullivan, 68, has been retired for nine years, but had been serving as director of safety and security for Cherry Creek Schools.

"This is a very sad time for the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office and our community," Robinson said. The CBS4 report also found that for several years Sullivan has posted bond for multiple suspects held in drug cases at jail facilities across the state.

As recently as 2008, Sullivan was an active participant in state and local methamphetamine task forces, helping Colorado draft a plan to deal with the surge in meth-related crime.

In 1995 President Bill Clinton named Sullivan to the National Commission on Crime Prevention and Control. According to a 1995 White House news release, Sullivan was a consultant to U.S. House Subcommittee on Crime and served on two advisory councils affiliated with the Department of Justice.

Divorce is expensive for Hulk Hogan & ex-wife

Massive Price Cut For Hulk And Linda Hogan Divorce HouseMassive Price Cut For Hulk And Linda Hogan Divorce House

Hulk and Linda Hogan may have agreed to sell the massive Florida estate they shared during their marriage and divide the proceeds as part of their just finalized divorce settlement, but the house -- well, it's just not what it used to be.  As RadarOnline.com reported, the Belleair, Florida estate where they filmed their reality show Hogan Knows Best in happier times, was listed at $13.9 million at the time the deal was hammered out.
It's now down to -- are you ready? -- $8,871,527! What's worse, when the couple first listed the place in 2007, they were asking $26 million!  http://www.radaronline.com/exclusives/2011/11/massive-price-cut-hulk-and-linda-hogan-divorce-house

That's a decrease of 37%.  My opinion is that's not a bad percentage for Florida real estate!

Herman Cain divorce?

Herman Cain has vowed to stay in the race for the GOP nomination and has deployed his wife of 43 years to defend him. Gloria Cain was appearing in a television interview set to air Monday night after being absent from the campaign trail for much of the year.  "I'm thinking he would have to have a split personality to do the things that were said," she said in excerpts of the Fox News Channel interview that were released Sunday.

She said she cannot believe the claims.

"To hear such graphic allegations and know that that would have been something that was totally disrespectful of her as a woman and I know that's not the person he is," Gloria Cain said. "He totally respects women."

My opinion is that a wife is often surprised by her husband's flings.  At first, anyway!

Kat Von D "divorces" Jesse James on Facebook

Kat Von D says Jesse James cheated on her with at least 19 women, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned.  http://www.radaronline.com/exclusives/2011/11/kat-von-d-says-jesse-james-cheated-her-with-19-women-facebook-blog-exclusive

In a lengthy Facebook blog titled “Thank You, Jesse James” posted on Sunday, Kat reveals that her relationship with Jesse was “toxic” and that she “encountered” woman 19 that he’d cheated on her with during their relationship.

“Today I encountered the 19th girl to add to the list of people Jesse cheated on me with during this last year,” Kat wrote.  “I kept going back and forth in my mind as to what the best way would be for me to release and let go of any residual feelings remaining from that toxic relationship. All of this may sound petty or immature to some, but I assure you this is coming from a place of pure honesty."

My opinion is that if cheated on Sandra Bullock, of course, he was gonna cheat on you!

A book review of my novel in the Florida Bar Jounal

The Florida Bar Journal

November, 2011 Volume 85, No. 9

The Trophy Wife Divorce
By John D. Mills

The Trophy Wife Divorce, the fifth novel by author and Florida Bar member John D. Mills, details the marriage and divorce of a rich older man and his beautiful young bride. In this legal thriller, what begins as a typical — albeit nasty — divorce case quickly turns criminal.

Mills’ latest novel opens as the marriage of retired dentist Stan Jacoby comes to an end, and accusations of lies and infidelity begin to fly. Attorney Beth Mancini, who represents “trophy wife” Karen Jacoby, tries to have the couple’s prenuptial agreement set aside, and after a failed mediation in the case, the attorney and her client decide to spend a weekend away at a secluded beach cottage on Cayo Costa, Florida. A violent intruder interrupts their holiday with a threatening message allegedly from Stan, informing the two women that they should have settled at mediation. During the attack, Mancini manages to break free and kill the intruder. Stan Jacoby is arrested, and his defense claims that Karen staged the beachside attack to get an advantage in the divorce case. The Trophy Wife Divorce focuses primarily on the trial itself, when the secrets of the husband and wife are exposed as the lawyers battle for the jury’s verdict in a case of self-defense or murder.

Author Mills uses his background as a divorce and criminal defense attorney to formulate the plot and to describe a constantly revolving cast of characters. Readers will also appreciate the author’s knowledge and appreciation of Florida laws and geography as both play a role in the novel’s overall setting and narrative.

The paperback edition of The Trophy Wife Divorce is available from major booksellers for $14.99. An electronic edition of the book is also available.

Moma's baby, Daddy's maybe?

Yahoo.com is reporting "Justin Bieber Denies He Fathered a Baby"

A woman named Mariah Yeater is claiming that Bieber is the father of her 3-month-old baby boy. Yeater filed legal paperwork demanding that Justin take a paternity test to "scientifically confirm" that he is the father, Radar Online reports, and that she's seeking "adequate support for my baby." It's about to get all Maury Povich up in here.

Yeater said in a signed affidavit that she met the singer backstage after Bieber's October 25th, 2010 concert at Los Angeles' Staples Center. A security guard allegedly saw Yeater in the crowd and asked if she'd like to meet Justin. "Immediately, it was obvious that we were mutually attracted to one another, and we began to kiss," Yeater told Star Magazine (via Radar), adding that he suggested they go somewhere private. That private place was a Staples Center bathroom. For the more scandalous, explicit details, check out Radar.

Bieber himself Tweeted about the allegations early this morning, saying: "all the rumors...the gossip...Im gonna focus on the positives....the music."

My opinion is: talk is cheap, let the DNA test tell us the truth.  And, by the way, Justin - always use a condom!
