Lean Rhimes wedding
Lean Rhimes got married this past weekend and I'm wondering how long it will be before the divorce. I'm betting on less than a year. Remember the newlyweds met on a movie set while they were away from their former spouses. He's an actor that travels to different locations and she's on tour all the time. Let me know you're thoughts.

Prosecutor & Public Defender fight for tax dollars
From the News-Press.com: State Attorney & Public Defender fight for budget money.
"According to the prosecutors' association, the 20th Judicial Circuit, which includes Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Glades and Hendry counties, is funded at 15.7 percent, or $2.9 million, below where it should be. In comparison, Miami-Dade County, which comprises the 11th Circuit, is 21 percent, or $7.8 million, above what it should be getting, according to the association's numbers.
And Public Defender Kathy Smith is in the same situation as Russell. According to the Florida Public Defenders Association, her office would get the largest boost statewide under the House proposal - about $5 million, which Smith said would be 40 to 50 new positions plus salary adjustments. The association puts the 20th Circuit last in funding per case at $184.98, while the state average is $236.30 per case."
I know from personal observations that our court system needs more attorneys to make the system work. I hope Mr. Russell and Mrs. Smith help our county by getting our share of the money from the budget.

new blog
My new book, The Trophy Wife Divorce, should be out on June 1, 2011.
The Trophy Wife Divorce is a legal thriller about a nasty divorce case with a wealthy couple that turns into a criminal case. The main character is divorce attorney, Beth Mancini, who represents the trophy wife, Karen Jacoby, and has tried to get the pre-nuptial set aside. After a failed mediation in the divorce, Beth and Karen spend a weekend at Karen's secluded beach cottage on Cayo Costa, Florida. A masked intruder with a gun ties them up and tells them Karen's husband sent him with the message that they should've settled at mediation. During the attack, Beth breaks free and kills the intruder. The husband is arrested and his defense at trial is the wife staged the attack to get an advantage in the divorce case. During the trial, the secrets of the husband and wife are exposed as the lawyers battle for the jury's verdict.
